BPB Press Fit Bush, Bronze lined
These self lubricating press fit or slide fit bronze lined bushes are a precision guiding element used for press and mould tools. High quality case hardened steel, for a long, trouble free service life. Compatible wth PP guide pillars.
The primary reason to use alternative materials for sliding tools is to achieve a good compromise between the friction coefficient, wear of materials and cost of the product. Bronze is often the best solution, because of the average coefficient of dynamic friction, called μrd. If compared to Steel/Steel sliding (0.3), it is about half on dry Steel/Bronze surfaces (0.18), but if used with lubricating grease, the coefficient of the Bronze becomes extremely low (0.04) contrary to the Steel (0.12).
