Clamping Levers & Tension Levers
Clamping and tension levers are used to extend the leverage on a nut or handle, in order to provide greater torque and control. By extending the gripping space on the lever, they allow a greater degree of hand tightening than would normally be possible. Handles can be straight or angled, to allow an easier grip and clear any obstructions, and may be finished with a ball knob. The bore may be threaded or plain. Clamp nuts are used for a wide range of work holding applications, and a quick and easy to use, increasing efficiency, in particular those variants with a double lever. Stainless steel options are available, which are ideal for use in challenging environments, for example where corrosive chemicals or used or where a cast iron version would be likely to be affected by rust. Stainless steel is also essential for use in clean room environments, such as found in the food and medical industries and their processing and packaging.
Control levers work on the same principle as adjustable levers, but the internal parts are fixed and do not ratchet. Tommy nuts and screws allow extremely precise control when tightening and are available with either fixed or movable bar. Turret levers are useful when fast rotation is needed and they are commonly seen on mobile shelving and roller racking, where they contribute to the easy movement of the shelves.
