What are cable glands? Cable glands ensure reliable strain relief and sealing of electrical cables and wires in industrial equipment and electrical installations as well as in machine and plant construction. Each type of material provides its own specific advantages:

• Stainless steel: Offers maximum corrosion-resistance and is ideally suited for hygienically sensitive or aggressive environments.
• Nickel-plated brass: Ensures high stability, long service life and good protection against mechanical influences.
• Plastic: Lightweight, cost-optimized and resistant to many chemicals.

Difference between metric thread, PG thread and NPT thread - choosing the right thread type is essential for ensuring compatibility with specific housings and machine connections:

• Metric thread (M): This is the current international standard. It offers a fine thread pitch and ensures a secure, vibration-resistant connection.
• PG thread: An older, coarser thread system that is primarily used in existing systems or control cabinet construction. It is based on the “Panzergewinde” standard and features larger diameters with comparatively thin wires.
• NPT thread: A tapered pipe thread standard from the USA with self-sealing properties. Due to the tapered shape, the thread seals on tightening, making it especially suitable for pneumatic or liquid applications.
