Quick Release Knobs

Rapid fastening with quick release knurled nuts and quick release star knobs

Knurled nuts, toggle nuts and star knobs are standard parts for clamping and holding parts on machines, devices and mechanisms. No tools are required to operate the handle, which produces a holding or clamping force by means of the centrally positioned internal thread.

Applications and functioning principle

If great thread lengths must be covered during tensioning and clamping or if the handles must be operated frequently, quick release knurled nuts and quick release star knobs offer many advantages. Thanks to the specially designed contour of the internal thread, the handle or nut can be simply placed over the thread of a screw with a slight tilt or incline to one side. The thread of the nut then levels itself against the contact surface and engages with the thread flanks. Positioned in this way, the thread is able to tension or clamp the part in less than a single turn. As their name suggest, the quick release knurled nuts and star knobs are just as fast and easy to release, simply by turning them in the opposite direction.
