Type SP3 - Body in forged steel
GN890 Pneumatically Operated Clamps (Push Pull)
The working principle of these pneumatically operated plunger clamps, GN 890, is identical in construction and dimensions to the manual plunger clamp GN842. To ensure an extended life of the mechanical parts as well as the air cylinder, the operating pressure should not exceed 6 bar.
In addition a lubrication control unit should be fitted in the air in-feed line. The sturdy mounting frame for the cylinder has been designed to avoid the trunions of the cylinder to protrude over the frame.
These pneumatically operated clamps are also available in sizes 360 up as version M (with magnetic piston). In conjunction with a proximity switch (GN896.1 / GN896.2) the position of the piston is sensed and the generated signal can be used in sequence control systems.
