Set collars have a variety of uses in industrial machine and device construction: They secure shafts and axles, serve as an end stop or as a fastener for additional functional elements. As needed, different types of shaft collars or clamping rings can be chosen, available in a variety of materials such as blackened steel or steel zinc plated, stainless steel or aluminium. Split and semi split versions make them easier to attach, without sliding down the full length of the rod. They are fastened using socket cap screws with a hexagon head, with an internal hexagon or using adjustable hand levers.
